Kia ora tātou e te whānau i roto i ngā tū āhuatanga o te wā.   E mihi ana ki tēnei kaupapa ā tātou e whakakotahi ana i tēnā, i tēnā o tātou i runga i te whakaaro kōtahi.

  • He mihi me ngā whakaaro pai, whakaaro nui ki ngā māngai o te kura e tū āpōpō. Hei waha kōrero, hei pū kōrero ki te whakataetae manu kōrero ā rohe ki te marae o Takapuwāhia. We send all our best wishes to our girls who will be representing the kura at the manu kōrero secondary schools Wellington to Ōtaki Regionals, tomorrow at Takapūwāhia marae: Te Aroha Poipoi Martin, Jasmine Rātapu, Miika Lind and Te Aumihi Kerehoma.

  • Parent/Teacher Interviews (Pō Uiui) - Parent/Teacher interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 20th June. Please make an effort to book your hui in as soon as possible.  You must make your appointment through the tari, not with the kaiako, as to avoid any confusion. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT KURA WILL FINISH AT 1.00PM THIS DAY - This is to allow kaiako time to set up and meet with whānau for pō uiui from 2.00pm onward.  The bus to Levin will leave kura at 1.10pm.

Also note that reports will only be handed out at the parent interview - they will not be sent home!

  • $3 Hoko Kai - Wharekura tuākana are running $3 kai (lunch only) every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until the end of term two.  This could be subject to change. Wharekura will be taking orders each morning from approximately 8.30am-9.15am. Wharekura are using a cash only system so please ensure you have the cash available, as other forms of payment are not being accepted.  Wharekura have posted the menu to the Whakatupuranga Rua Mano facebook page.

  • Manu Kōrero ā Rohe - Tomorrow 13 June, Tau 9-13 will be attending the Regional Manu Kōrero competition in Porirua at Takapuwahia Marae.  Bus is leaving from Te Takere in Levin at 6.00am and leaving kura at 6.30am. At this stage, there is no return time however if we look at past years, your tamaiti could be home at 11.00pm.

  • Matariki celebration and remembrance wall - We will be having remembrance and celebration walls at our Matariki kura celebrations. We ask ( not compulsory) any whānau to send pictures of those loved ones who have passed so we can acknowledge and remember them. And those whānau who have had babies during the last year to send photos in as well to acknowledge and celebrate this time of the new year.

  • Matariki celebrations - We have our annual Matariki celebration this coming Friday 15th June. Kura will begin at 6.00am and will finish at 12.00pm  This is still a full day of kura although the times have changed to start 3 hours earlier than usual, therefore our tamariki are expected to be present and engage in one of the main kaupapa we participate in here.  More information will be sent out during the term. The kura bus will still be running, just 3 hours earlier than usual for pick ups and 3 hours earlier for drop offs.

  • Subway Friday (please read) - Subway is cancelled for this Friday, 15th June due to our Matariki Celebrations and kura finishing at 12pm.  Subway will re-commence next Friday 22nd June.

  • Poitarawhiti (Netball) - These are the netball times for this Saturday.

    • For chromebook tauira: The parent portal is up and active. You can log on via the following link: http://parent-portal.appspot.com/wrm.school.nz.  You can login via your child's email eg: tute@wrm.school.nz The password is the child's email name and wrm added eg. tutewrm.

    • Kura APP -  For those whanau who have just joined WRM, there is a kura App that will keep you involved in the goings on within the kura. You can download to your iPhone, Samsung or other smart phone. Go to the App store for iPhones, or play store for Androids - e.g. Samsung, type in Whakatupuranga Rua Mano and download the App.

Kura Takawaenga

  • He mihi mahana atu ki a tātou i ngā rangi haumātao nei.

  • RāApa 13 Pīpiri (13 June) - Cybersmart Evenings for any of our whanau that have not yet completed the Kawa of Care delivery, and a session in cyber smart and cyber safety. Makaore Bevan will be leading the second session which will begin at 6.30pm for about 1 hour. This will be held in the Putaiao classroom. Although not compulsory, I recommend this to all of our whanau.

  • POSTPONED: Due to the tangi of one of our kura whānau members, we had to postpone the Carters Observatory haerenga.  Matua Glenn will notify us when another date has been re-set.  

     Carters Observatory visit by Taumānuka (Year 9s).  Permission slips have been provided to all of Taumānuka.  It is recommended that our tamariki be available to attend this trip as it will give an even clearer understanding of their recent studies of the Solar System.  Evening kai will be provided. We will leave at 3.30pm and return by 9pm. All details on pānui. Otaki Planting RāApa 13 Pīpiri- Kura Takawaenga will be sending some tamariki to attend a Planting Day. We have around 2000 natives to plant.

  • Pō Noho Kura - RāPare 14 Pīpiri. Kura Takawaenga will stay overnight at kura before the Matariki Celebrations.

  • Rangi Whakanui Matariki - Matariki Celebrations. RāMere 15 Pīpiri. Celebrations begin at 6am followed by our annual Kai-o-te-Ata. Kura finishes at 12pm that day.

  • RāTu 19 Pīpiri 2pm. Star Lab Otaki Whare Pukapuka - Ka haere a Kura Takawaenga ki te whare Pukapuka o Otaki ki te kite atu i te Star Lab.

  • Pō Uiui Mātua - Parent Teacher Interviews. RāApa 20 Pīpiri (June). Parents may contact our Tari from Friday onwards to make appointments.
